  • From the March 12, 1976, issue of the Samford Crimson: "Step Sing sweepstakes winners Sigma Nu fraternity found out Saturday night that while everybody loves a loser, winning has its good points, also. Singing an original show written by Sigma Nu brothers Rex Hammock and Rancy Evers, the fraternity combined sound, choreography, and costumes with a 15 foot jump shot by Del Howell to bring the sell-out audience to their feet. The show was an off beat tribute to losers - presidential losers, bankruptcy victims, and the boy that's never chosen when teams are picked."
