[This sermon was evidently published in the newspaper Watchman and Observer, from which Dabney has taken clippings and added new material to form the document.] "Encouragements to Prayer. A Sermon Preached to the 18th Regiment. Va. Volunteers, in their camp, within the Entrenchments of Manassa's [sic] Junction. June, 1861. On Luke 18th. 7. 8. 'And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry long unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.'"
