  • Interview of Howard F. McCord on May 14, 1983. The interview was conducted by Ray M. and Doris T. Atchison. Born in 1888 in Calera, Alabama, Howard McCord received his B.A. at Howard College in 1910. From 1933 until 1958, McCord worked for the Bibb County Office of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Program. In the interview McCord discusses his experience as a student at Howard College during the first decade of the twentieth century. He also discusses the history of Baptists in Alabama, Baptist Assemblies, and the history of early Baptist churches in the region. In addition, he discusses Bibb County, Alabama history.
