- Ida V. Moffett (1905-1996) graduated from the Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1926. She was director of both nursing service and education at Birmingham Baptist Hospitals almost continuously from 1941 to 1969. The Ida V Moffet School of Nursing at Samford University is named in her honor.
