  • Samuel Parsons, O.P. (1931 - 2011) was professor of New Testament at DSPT. He was a third generation San Franciscan, and attended St. Mary's Elementary and St. Ignatius High School. He attended L'Institut de la Touraine in Tours, France, Stanford University, before entering the Order of Preachers. Post-ordination in 1957, he earned degrees from St. Albert College; the Pontifical University of St. Thomas, Rome; the Pontifical Commission, Rome; Ecole Biblique et Archeologique Francaise, Jerusalem. He received a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas, Rome. In 2002, he was appointed Chaplain of the Dominican nuns at Corpus Christi Monastery, Menlo Park, California, where he also taught Sacred Scripture classes.
