Colored postcard has a printed caption "The Goddess Kali. This photograph is taken form a picture sold in Bengal to be hung up on the wall and worhsipped. Kail holds a demon’s head; round her neck is a string of skulls, and her tongue is red with the blood in which she delights. She is worshipped all over Bengal, where every woman requiring a boon, causes a few drops of her blood to flow in Kali’s honor." The back is labeled "Church Missionary Society Y.P.U. Series 2."
