  • St. Thomas Protestant Episcopal church is located on Fifth Avenue at the corner of 53rd Street, its membership being composed of the wealthy and fashionable residents of the district. The old church was destroyed by fire in 1908. The present building was started in 1911 and completed in Jan. 1914 at a cost of $1,000,000.
