Webb speaks on Samson based on Judges 13. The Israelites repeatedly turned away from God, resulting in cycles of unfaithfulness and judgment. God used the oppression of the Philistines to discipline the nation, yet unlike other times in Judges, the people did not return to Him. Samson’s family faced the hardship of childlessness, but God intervened to save rather than destroy them. Samson is presented as a saviour: his birth is announced by an angel, the nation fails to recognise him, and his work of deliverance is ultimately fulfilled through his death. His story anticipates the ultimate salvation brought by Jesus. Webb reminds listeners that no matter the battle faced by the believer, God has accomplished our redemption and our future is certain.
