  • Photograph of Zachary C. Taylor. 1923. Zachary C. Taylor was born in 1851. He graduated from Baylor University and was ordained to the ministry in 1879. Z. C. Taylor and his wife Kate served as Southern Baptist missionaries to Brazil. Together, with fellow missionaries William B. and Anne Luther Bagby, they formed a church in Bahia in 1882, the first Baptist church in Brazil composed of Brazilians. He and his second wife died in a coastal storm in Corpus Christi, TX in 1919. JPG file (93 KB)
