• Throughout the talk Smith explores the Old Testament references. Smith speaks on Hebrews 10:19-12:29. 1. Warning similar to chapter 6. 2. Optimism similar to chaper 6. 3. 10:33-38 - quote from Habbakuk, from Septuagint. Writer's confidence in the readers to keep trusting, and that he is not worried about re-shaping the text. 4. 11:1-3: Detailed discussion of faith as the assurance of things hoped for. Belief = confidence in something that hasn't happened. He compares this passage to Genesis 1-2, and chaos being changed into the world. Reality of the created order in relation to God. Speaker explores Genesis 1-3. Creation from God - those created are created from things unseen. Invisible order creates what can be seen. 5. 11:4-40 - Faith of Old Testament characters, how they lived this out and God's repsonse. Preceeds m4780. End of talk is missing.
