Christ Church, Founded 1733. Christ Church, facing Johnson Square, was first established in the Colony of Georgia. The site for the church was set aside July 7, 1733. The first building was commenced March 25, 1740 and completed and dedicated in 1750. Rev. John Wesley organized the first Protestant Sunday School in the world here.
