Statement by the Notary Public, dated 1 January 1825, regarding payment due to Tombeckbe Bank, Alabama's first chartered bank, in St. Stephens. Attached is a handwritten document, dated 1 October 1824, regarding this payment. The handwritten document is signed by Governor Israel Pickens, his brother Samuel Pickens, and friend James C. Gamble. William Brantley, the donor, writes about this document: "It bears a St. Stephens notarial seal of Robert H. Crosswell and was printed by C. Dameron of Claiborne Ala. one of the early Alabama printers. I consider it a rare and valuable early imprint as well as a fine document."
