In the introduction by Jacob Needleman, program director, he says, "We have here I think a unique collection of people, thinkers, scholars, pioneers, the cutting edge of a part of American spiritual life which most people here would like to know more about and we couldn't have a better panel in the universe, in the galaxy, than the present one, I think, for this subject." The first tape includes 10 minutes of another Occasional forum but with His Holiness Sakya Trizin, the 41st leader of the Sakya Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
