• McDonald speaks on the importance of reading the Bible in context, examining reading the accounts in the context of God's promises. He then looks at the big story of the Bible, covering the Exodus and the rejection of the promised land resulting in wandering in the desert. McDonald explains the entry into the land, and the role of the Judges. He explains Israel's desire for a king, and the selection of David. McDonald uses Solomn to show the importance of context, as to understand Solomn we must remember the promises given to Abraham. McDonald encourages his audience to give thanks to God for the good things they have been given, and not only to complain.
