Peterson stresses the context of this passage (1 Peter 3:1-7) and the context of submissions and self-sacrifice in the interest of others. He looks at the encouragement that Peter gives of unbelievers watching our behaviour. Peterson stresses the importance of being sensitive to women who find this hard - either because the husbands are quieter, don't have time for them, or who commit domestic violence. Peterson examines Peter's instruction for both the wife's and husband's behaviour for godliness.
