This chapel was a part of the settlement founded by the Russians in 1812, known as Fort Ross. The Fort was in the form of a quadrangle of Redwood walls located on the cliff on the coast line of California, several miles north of San Francisco. Acquired as State Landmark # 5 in 1906, the building ruins have been restored.
