- St. Mary Anne's church was built in 1743 on the site of a previous wooden structure. It was the first church of North Elk Parish founded in 1706. Inset at top left, the Rev. Joseph Coudon, Rector and first Episcopal Priest to be ordained in the United States by Bishop William White in 1781.
