  • James Bainham stands fully clothed and chained to the stake. He has both arms extended outward and is surrounded by a crowd of civilians and soldiers. In earlier editions, this martyrdom is illustrated by Luborsky and Ingram 11223.18, and appears in the second (1570), third (1576), and fourth (1583) early English editions.
