  • Naomi's story featured in chapter 1 of the book of Ruth is a story of travel and return. In the process of her travels, Naomi is left bereft with no hope. The goodness and grace of God calls Naomi back into the land of Israel. Naomi expects little from God as she lacks a clear understanding of God's grace. By the end of the book, Naomi is the recipient of God's abundant generosity and grace. Despite her bitterness, Naomi returns to the land and the Lord. Webb calls listeners to return to the Lord in a similar fashion as Naomi.
