Theodore A. Gill (1920- 2005), one of the founders of GTU, was presdient of San Francisco Theological Seminary from 1958 to 1966. He brought John Dillenberger to SFTS. A Presbyterian theologian and profesor of philosophy, after SFTS he worked for the World Council of Churches on the higher education desk. In 1971 he began teaching at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and as provost was instrumental in expanding the school to become a liberal arts institution.
