Description
  • St. Mark's Protestant Episcopal Church is prettily situated facing Travis Park. Flowers, vines and shrubbery grow in profusion close to the building giving it a very picturesque and beautiful appearance. The foundation of the Church was laid in 1860. The work on it was interrupted, however, by the Civil War, and it was not completed until 1881. The Church has 1100 Communicants.
