Description
  • Clothing ceremony as Teresa, Benedicta a Cruce. Edith Stein entered the Carmelite monastery of Cologne on October 14, 1933. She had intended to join the Carmelites upon conversion but was persuaded to wait in order to not create a greater separation with her mother and to continue her writing and teaching vocation. The wedding dress was later reworked as a vestment, worn by John Paul II at her beatification.
