Description
  • At the heart of the universe lecture 1: Tomorrow Jerusalem. Jensen introduces the series. Jensen looks at the nature of life in a city. He explains that the bible uses the image of a city to illustrate life. Jensen explores the implications of hoping for a goal on how we live our lives now. Jensen explains what doctrine is. He then applies this to the doctrine of the end, explaining that we are already at the end, and yet have not arrived. Jensen details the beginning of the end, starting from Jesus' baptism in Mark. He looks how the Kingdom of God was a reality in Jesus life : 1. God is the creator and ruler of the universe 2. God's rule over Jesus 3. God's rule over his special people Jensen examines the signs that Jesus identified as signs of the end. He stresses that we are living in both the old and new ages, but that a definite end is needed for this world, as well as a definite new beginning. Jensen looks at the effects that the old age has on the new, including that contains transformed, old people. Jensen looks at what we can know about heaven. Talk is followed by questions.
