Seven Coventry martyrs—two women and five men--are chained to three stakes and burned. Some of them extend their arms upward, others clasp their hands in prayer, and one crosses her hands over her chest. They appear to be elevated above the large crowd of civilians and soldiers that stand below them. Revised design of Luborsky and Ingram 11223,42, which appears in the second, third, and fourth early English editions (1570, 1576, 1583). JPEG file (441 KB).
