- “The Governor’s Mansion, located at 1142 South Perry Street in Montgomery, Ala. is one of the Capitol City’s showplaces. The State acquired the property, which was built in 1900, from the Ligon Family in 1950. The gleaming white structure, of antebellum design, surrounded by spacious grounds and lovely oaks, makes it a home in keeping with the high office of Chief Executive and a fitting gathering place for the guests and visitor’s of Alabama’s First Family.”
