Description
  • On March 29, 1638, the first Swedes landed in America at Wilmington. The Old Swedes' first Church was built in 1698. The stone used in its construction was carried by the women of the colony and the brick for the aisles and the hinges for the stalls in the interior of the Church were imported from Sweden.
