• Session 1 : Being a helper and a seeker. Thorpe defines discipling and occassions where it occurs in the Bible. He explores what we do when we disciple, especially as it is 1-1, including loving one another. He explores a passage that shows that discipling is a family activity. Disciples are not people who give up lots, but in the course of sharing the gospel, give up everything (as seen in the parable of the buried pearl). Discipling has in view giving people the will to learn, and that comes from loving the Father and loving Jesus Christ. It is not teaching content.
