- Photograph of Samford University basketball player Cal Campbell taking a shot during the Chattanooga vs. Samford basketball game in November 1969. Also in the photograph is Otha Mitchell (#40). In 1969, Samford became the first major university in Alabama to integrate its sports teams when three African-American junior college transfers�Sherman Hogan, Otha Mitchell, and Billy Williams�joined the basketball team.
