  • Manuscript codexes.;Title devised by cataloger.;Physical description: 11-12 lines per page, written in Sūdānī on heavy glazed, laid European paper (shield watermark?). Approximately 25 leaves per volume. Red punctuation marks; verses marked by three red dots; catchwords. Not all surahs marked with title; when written, surah headings are in red and appear to have been added by a later hand. Text fully vocalized. First few words of some volumes in red if text does not begin with the basmalah. On leaves 23a-b, volume 18; page 2 of cover of volume 24; and leaf 2b, volume 29 are practice copies of Sūrat al-Fātiḥah written in a crude hand. Volume 29 bound out of order; correct sequence of leaves is 5, 1, 4, 6-23, 3, 2. Some volumes end with "ṣadaqa Allāh al-aẓīm . . . " Damp staining around margins. Originally housed in leather case measuring 12. 5 x 29 x 17. 6 cm.;Waqf notice in some volumes (3, 5-9, 12, 18-19, 21-26): "Waqafat'hu Fāṭimah lillāh taʻalá fa-yakūnu al-thawāb li-ummihā" or a shortened version thereof.;An incomplete multivolume manuscript of the Qurʼān from Harar; previously owned by a woman named Fāṭimah. Each volume contains one juzʼ; the last juzʼ is lacking.;Loose in stiffened maroon leather wrappers with flaps; blind-stamped central mandorla and pendants; tooled border. Paper doublures.
