Description
  • Knox speaks on the manifestation of God’s power in Creation and His role as Judge. All things have been purposefully made by the will and mind of God, and His power governs all of Creation. The prayer of the early Christians in Acts 4 reflects their clear understanding of God as Creator, and Paul likewise preaches in Athens on this truth. Creation reveals God’s power and stands at the forefront of the gospel. As created beings, humans are called to honour, adore, and praise their Creator. Creation displays both the power and character of God. Because He is the good Creator, reflected in the quality of what He has made, He continues to care for it. Humanity’s response to His authority should be trust and obedience. God’s power is absolute and complete; nothing escapes it. His sovereignty provides comfort and strength for believers. The very act of Creation also testifies to purpose and design. God is also Judge. Judgment runs in parallel with God’s role as Creator. Today, many allow modern scientific theories to take the place of God, yet Scripture affirms that His judgment is universal and that all actions will be held accountable. Believers, like Paul, must proclaim the gospel with full conviction of God’s coming judgment, while also showing compassion toward those who do not yet believe. Christ was crucified to rescue believers from the wrath of God. Through God's judgement, believers are simultaneously vindicated.
