  • Located on the Capitol grounds in Montgomery, the First White House of the Confederacy is one of Alabama's most cherished shrines. President Jefferson Davis occupied the house until the government was shifted to Richmond, and many relics are still on display in the house. The shrine is open daily to visitors, and there is no admission charge.
