Fresco on the lower south register of the nave, depicting Joseph being sold by his brothers to the Midianite traders who in turn sell him into slavery in Egypt (although according to the biblical account the Midianite traders themselves draw Joseph out of the pit into which the brothers have thrown him, thereby forestalling their scheme to sell him, the painting opted to depict an imaginary episode foreshadowing Jesus' betrayal by Judah).
