Description
  • Talk 5a of CMS Summer School 1976. Cameron preaches on the division between the experiences in the 'now' versus the 'not yet,' based on Romans 8:18-25. In Christ, believers experience tension between certain future blessings and current sufferings. God chooses Christians for mission, despite our weaknesses, to accomplish His glory. The passage reveals the broken state of creation; man is an exiled rebel in a broken world. The Christian missionary operates in a world that tells us perfection and utopia is attainable in the current world; for the ordinary person, a tension exists between reality and perception. No matter the current reality of suffering, Christians place their hope in a greater future and splendour. Suffering is an inevitable part of the coming glory. God's promised future blessings for the Christian, helps to break our transfixion upon the world. Th object of our mission is to help others be brought into the promised splendour and joy.
