  • The Mission San Diego De Alcala was founded in 1769 by Fra Junipero Serra. The first of a chain of 21 Franciscan Missions built in California. In 1775 it was practically destroyed as a result of Indian attacks. In 1930 it was restored and is now in perfect condition.
