  • Photograph of Norman Wade Cox. 1923. On October 28, 1888, Norman Wade Cox was born in Climax, Georgia. He was converted in 1902 and ordained on October 28, 1910. While attending Mercer University, from which he graduated in 1914, Cox pastored several area churches. After graduating, he attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored numerous churches during his time there. In 1918 he became pastor of the Baptist church at Barnesville, Georgia. At this time he also became a member of the State Mission Board of the Georgia Baptist Convention. After two years he became pastor of the Court Street Baptist Church. In 1922 he was called to First Baptist Church of Savannah. He died on February 9, 1968. JPG file (191 KB)
