State Highways 21 and 9, Southern Alameda County -- Birthplace of the East Bay, founded June 11, 1797 by Padre Lasuen who succeeded Padre Junipero Serra as "Father President" of the California Missions. This carved wooden statue of "Cristo Rey" -- Christ the King -- is over 150 years old, and once stood in the original church.
