Gilbert Tennent (1703-1764) was an Irish-American Presbyterian clergyman, and one of the leaders of the Great Awakening. This manuscript includes two of Tennent's sermons, both of which ruminate on Ephesians 6:14, "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." From dates noted in the manuscript, it looks like Tennent wrote these sermons in 1744, then delivered one or both again in 1749 and 1759.
