Description
  • This manuscript is a handwritten history of Salem Church from 1786 to 1876. In addition to Salem Church, it includes much of the histories of other Presbyterian churches in Congruity, Derry Township, Blairsville, Latrobe, and others. It also includes a description of how frontier churches were formed in the late 1700s. The history ends with a description of how the Temperance Movement affected the church. There are two additional pages after Barnett's history that provide some historical information from 1876 to 1885, written by a different person.
