  • Architecture Roman style, resembling St. Peter's in Rome. Cornerstone laid July 4th, 1897. Consecrated Nov. 18, 1928, created Basilica by Pope Pius XI, March 10, 1929, 216 feet long and 116 feet wide, seating 1,840. Altars and pulpit are of marble.
