Thomas Hitten [Hitton], who stands fully clothed with a long mustache and short beard, stands chained to the stake while flames and smoke engulf him. Several men stoke the fire beneath him while a large crowd of onlookers, including some in ecclesiastical garb, surround him. To the left of Hitten is a man sitting on top of a horse who seems to be orchestrating Hitten’s executions. Several buildings, which look like small houses, are in the background. Revised design of Luborsky and Ingram 11223/18, which appears in the second, third, and fourth early English editions (1570, 1576, 1583). This revision, however, differs from "The martyrdom of Giles Tilleman." JPEG file (458 KB)
