- “The backwaters of Bartlett’s Ferry Dam come to the old dam that was used wen Meadows grist mill ran. This bridge is listed in the WORLD GUIDE TO COVERED BRIDGES as Hallawakee Creek Bridge, no. 01-41-03, on Tillery Creek Road, 2 spans, 140’ long, Town type construction. Located near Beulah community, off U.S. 29, north of Opelika. The Alabama Historical Commission is working with interested Lee Countians to preserve this fine, wooden-pegged bridge.”
