Wolfgangus Schuch stands fully clothed and chained to the stake, hands clasped and arms extended upward. He is surrounded by a crowd of civilians and soldiers; two men kneel in front of him with their arms extended toward him. In earlier editions, this martyrdom is illustrated by Luborsky and Ingram 11223/39, which appears only in the second early English edition (1570) to represent the burning of Wolfgangus. Revised design of Luborsky and Ingram 11223/16, which is the same engraving used for "The burning of John Goose." JPEG file (430 KB).
