  • Photograph of William W. Stickney. 1913. Born in Plymouth, Vermont, on March 21, 1853. He graduated from Phillips Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, and received his LLD from Norwich University in 1902. After practicing law for a number of years, he became the state's attorney and later the speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives. From 1900-1902 he was the governor of Vermont.
