  • Payne and Tong discuss the responsibility of the church to raise and train children in the gospel. Tong critiques the use of the term 'passionate' in relation to kids and youth ministry. Both men explore Psalm 78 and the people turning away from God despite having seen his miraculous work, and it's instruction to teach the next generation so that they will trust and obey God. Tong explains the importance of modelling reading the bible, having the bible central, and praying to our children. He then makes comments on assessing kids bibles. Tong reminds listeners that training kids is a spiritual battle, and that ultimately God is in control.
