Goldsworthy preaches on the rule and wisdom of Solomon from 1 Kings 4. Solomon's wisdom is an expression of the blessings of God. The gift of wisdom and successful rule was an expression of a return to Eden and the possession of the land and all the blessings of God. The later chapters further reveal the transitory nature of Solomon's blessings. Solomon's kingship would help to create and refine an image of true kingship that is wise, just, right, and one that brings prosperity and blessing. Ultimately, Solomon's wisdom points us to the new creation found in Christ.
