Description
  • Naomi and Ruth return to the land in deep emotional, psychological, and physical need. Both women are in a position of vulnerability and weakness. Boaz has the capacity to help the women. He is evidently a man of social standing, authority, influence, and resources. Through Boaz, Ruth is abundantly equipped to support herself and Noami. As revealed in Ruth’s closing genealogy and those found in the Gospels, Ruth’s family line saw both David and Jesus as descendants. Like Boaz, Jesus is our great redeemer. Acting through His capacity to serve, Jesus has assumed the responsibility to redeem us from our sins.
