Charles Y. Glock (1919-2018 ) was professor of sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, for twenty years. He served as the editor of Religion in Sociological Perspective and The New Religious Consciousness, and was co-author of The Anatomy of Racial Attitudes, among many other works in sociology and religion. Glock collaborated with Robert Bellah and with doctoral and postdoctoral students in a series of studies resulting in The New Religious Consciousness (University of California Press, 1976). Along with Bellah, he was one of the UC-Berkeley members in GTU's Area IV studies (Religion and Society). He also served as a member of the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary board of trustees.
