  • Fr. James L. Empereur, S.J., was a professor of systematic and liturgical theology at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley for many years . He founded the Institute for Spirituality and Worship, a nine-month renewal program. He was founding editor of Modern Liturgy Magazine, which continues today as Ministry and Liturgy. He moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1994 to work in Hispanic ministry at the San Fernando Cathedral.
