• “This diorama depicting the Battle of Mauvilla is one of many interesting exhibits to be seen at the Mound Park Museum. The Battle of Mauvilla was fought between Hernando De Soto and Chief Tuskaloosa near the present town of Grove Hill, Ala. Chief Tuskaloosa’s Creek warriors fought valiantly, but the armor-plated soldiers of De Soto had the advantage. This was the bloodiest battle ever fought in America.”
