From the May 5, 1969, issue of the Crimson: "A delightful journey through the land of Oz won first place in the class division for the juniors. Entering the gateway to the Land of Oz, magician Jesse Bates bade his pinafore-and bow tie-clad lollipop eaters to 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road.' With a storybook adventure before them, the youngsters chanted 'We're Off To See The Wizard.' Learning that in the wonderful land of Oz the forces of life always conquer the wicked old witch, they sang 'Ding-Dong, The Wicked Witch Is Dead.' Realizing dreams sometimes come true, the group realized this fairyland is 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' The performance was planned by Kathy Grissom, Sally Hyrne, and Bill Lukehart. Costumes were by Kathy Mitchell and Linda Robinson."
